Ethiopia’s Abiy Ahmed on a two day visit to Uganda, Egypt

Published

on

Ethiopia’s prime minister, Abiy Ahmed has started a two day state visit to Uganda, from where he will head to Egypt for talks that will include the Nile Basin dynamics, regional security and trade.

Abiy, who was received by president Yoweri Museveni, will preside over Uganda’s National Heroes’ Day celebrations on Saturday.

The government of Uganda earlier this week announced that he will be honored with the Most Excellent Order of the Pearl of Africa – The Grand Master medal, the highest honor for a head of state.

Authorities in Uganda said bilateral trade between the two countries stands at $1 million, and the two leaders will be seeking ways to enhance bilateral cooperation frameworks.

Abiy will then head to Cairo where he is expected to meet president Abdel Fatah el Sisi, and the two leaders will discuss the controversial Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam that has caused concern in Egypt.

Abiy’s two legged visit out of Ethiopia comes in the wake of a week of drastic reforms including the lifting of the state of emergency, announcements that Ethiopia will partially liberalise the economy and acceptance of the 2000 Algiers Agreement that potentially ends conflict with Eritrea.

On Thursday, the 41 year old former intelligence office also made some key personnel changes in the country’s security sector, appointing a new army chief of staff and replacing the director of national intelligence and security services.

2019 according to Ifa oracle – Traditional religion adherents

Published

on

Traditional religion adherents under the umbrella of Ancient Religion Societies of African Descendants International Council (ARSADIC), have urged Nigerians to shun calamitous predictions by groups and individuals who have predicted that Nigeria will break up, doomed or ceased to exist after the 2019 general elections.

They made this known on Wednesday while revealing some of the messages from Ifa (divination), to Nigeria ahead of the 2019 general elections during the second annual general meeting and peace prayer service for Nigeria and Diaspora organised by ARSADIC at Oba Okunade Sijuwade Memorial Hall, Oke Mogun, Ile Ife, Osun State.

According to reports, ARSADIC which is a conglomerate of traditional religion associations across Nigeria and in the Diaspora is made up of organisations such as Traditional Religion Worshippers Association of Nigeria (TRAWSO) Oyo and Osun state chapters, International Council for Ifa religion, International Congress for Orisa Tradition and Culture and Orisa Worshippers Union among others.

ARSADIC President, Dr. Sola Olalekan Atanda while revealing some of the messages from Ifa to Nigeria, said contrary to insinuations that Nigeria may disintegrate after the 2019 general elections, “Nigeria will not disintegrate, it was revealed that we should continue to be prayerful ahead of the general elections in 2019”.

ARSARDIC President while speaking said, “A God fearing person that believes in God must be optimistic, to be pessimistic is very dangerous, pessimism kill ambition. If you don’t have ambition, you may not have achievement. God is a great God, God will not destroy his handwork, we are God fearing people in Nigeria. A lot of people worship God in Nigeria, Christians, Muslims and traditional religion adherents, we all worship God. So, how can we now say that Nigeria will be doomed in 2019? No.

“We see prosperity and that is why we always consult God, that is why we had a divination in September this year, to ask God what we can do, what should be done to make Nigeria to continue to be giant of Africa, to give good life to our President, Muhammdu Buhari and his team.
