ANC calls for Zuma’s resignation today.
The South African embattled President; Jacob Zuma has been given resignation deadline by the country’s ruling party; the Africa National Congress (ANC), lest they go ahead with a vote of no confidence motion in the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, the country’s Police minister has ruled out the possibility of arresting the president in the ongoing crackdown on individuals implicated in the influence peddling probe involving the Gupta family.

South Africa’s elite police force, the Hawks, this morning conducted raids on several properties linked to the Gupta family and arrested three including a member of the Gupta family.
A judicial source told Reuters that police are expected to make five to seven more arrests, but also ruled out the possibility of arresting cabinet ministers implicated in the scandal.
Today, the president is also expected to respond to a recall effected by his party yesterday.
The ruling Africa National Congress (ANC) ordered the president to step down as head of state and told journalists that they belive Zuma will respond today.
A media briefing that had initially been scheduled for 8:00 hours GMT did not happen as the presidency asked the media to ‘await official notification’.
