Trial of Former Lord’s Resistance Army(LRA) commander, Dominic Ongwen resumes today

The trial of former Lord’s Resistance Army(LRA) commander, Dominic Ongwen resumes today at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands. Ongwen is charged with 70 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity allegedly committed in northern Uganda.
The trial’s opening started with the reading of the charges against Ongwen late last year.

The Chamber was satisfied that the accused understood the nature of the charges.

Ongwen however ,pleaded not guilty to the charges. He faces life imprisonment if convicted.
